Snow on Friday! Zoo on Saturday!

We decided that on our way back to Portland from northern Washington, we’d swing through Mt. Ranier National Park. Drove about 1 1/2 hours out in the country only to find ourselves at the gate of the park:

We had to turn around and drive 2 hours back to the interstate and then back to Portland!

Last night we went to a small Lebanese restaurant where there was supposed to a belly dancer at 8 pm. After we got there (at 6:40) we were told the dancer wouldn’t dance until 9 and would only dance for 10 minutes (the internet said 30 minutes!) So…. we ate a wonderful meal and left before getting to see the dancer! Bummer, but the food was great.

This morning we met Steve’s brother and his 2 daughters at the Oregon zoo. The sun was shining and it actually got up to 65 degrees! A very nice day to spend at the zoo.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my journey across Oregon and Washington over the past few days.  I have been writing this blog this week primarily for my nieces and a few friends who have been wanting to keep up with my doings.  I will get “back to business” when I get back home – stay tuned for quilting, art, and fiber stuff!

  1. Loved traveling with you. How cool it must have been to travel thru there, especially getting to see a filed of tulips. They look spectacular!
