painted shoes

My art group, The Pandoras, met at my house two weeks ago.  We followed the directions that Lyric Kinard put on her blog a few weeks back for painting shoes:  http://lyrickinard.blogspot.com/2010/06/tutorial-painting-shoes.html  We had a great time!  Here are a few pictures of our day:

These are the shoes I chose to paint:

With one coat of Gesso:

Here’s a close-up of the detail I put on with paint pens:

Here are Michelle Sheets, Grace Howes, and Susan Brubaker-Knapp busily working.  (Michelle had finished the painting on her shoes and was knitting while they dried):

Here are the shoes at the end of the day:

Michelle Sheets are top left, the grey ones; Grace Howes’ are top right; and Susan Brubaker-Knapp’s are bottom right.

I love getting together with these talented women! I always leave inspired.
